i can’t describe how much i love this
I’ve planned to blog this as soon as I met her but that entire week was constant bands each day. During that week I had started uni that week yet I skipped it to see TSS, The Cab, ARTTM. And the week after I had to get organized anyways here it goes…
It was the 26th of February 2012 the day I’ve been dreading for weeks of countless days of song repeats of Love Like This and Everything’s Fine. The first time The Summer Set have announced a gig in Sydney Australia as I have been waiting for them since 2008 the moments I heard their EP In Color(Shes Got The Rhythm).
Soundwave has policies when it comes to M&G as only 150 people can buy a ticket to see them, my ticket was number 19 and I also bought for The Cab and ARTTM but my priority was TSS ! Their greeting started at 6pm which I had to leave half way during FTSK but was too excited and left their set 2songs after.
I noticed when i was at the M&G tent all entrances had band names for signings Versaemerge was the longest next to a shorter line which had like about 7 people..I quickly jumped in and asked the person infront of me if this was TSS, it was and so the wait began..My friend Sarina told me before that they do not allow photos with them as it is only a “Meet and Greet” so i handed my phone to my cousin told him to quickly take the shot when im with them. perfect plan!
5mins till 6pm and already too excited to meet them.. As the tent door opened for a split second I SAW JESS !! ASDFGHJKL needless to say…I was going insane!! They were letting people in 4 at a time and they stopped me after 4. The security guard asked me and noticed a stick in my hand “whoa you caught a stick?” I told him my friend(Sarina) had bought me this stick and its missing one of the guitarists signatures (Josh). He laughed and said kindly wished me luck seeing them and told me to go through. So much for security being strict I felt a bit more calm about taking photos.
I walked in and the first person I saw was John! Such a awesome guy i greeted him with a smile and asked him how was the Philippines? and how you liking Australia? He was so nice he said he loved it here does not want to leave, I laughed and had to make it snappy with them all. Next was Stephen, he was quiet but I greeted him and asked him to sign ..in color for me.. Josh followed the only missing signature on my stick! Such a cute guy haha I came forward and broshook his hand and I asked him would you sign my stick it would mean a lot to me its the only signature I’m missing he was stoked and asked for my name. Full fan girling that moment and shook his hand once again before I left off. Suddenly it was Jess Bowen ! Everything running through my head what to say panicking on what to do, heart beating so fast to what to do first. I said “Sup Jess ! Could you sign this for me?” as my head was saying ASDFGUAIHWFILUEFNILHGOG;IJOPEGKFSZLGMJORIL !@#? She said Yeah sure in her American accent and it was so beautiful as I’ve heard it many times on Youtube videos but this time perfect in real life. There was sooo much more that i wanted to say like im your biggest fan, i love you and all that fan girl stuff but i had to wrap it up and so I quickly added “can I get a photo with you?:$” and she was happy, smiled and stood up as I told my cousin to quickly take the shot…Her arm went over my shoulder and OMG JESS BOWEN put her arm around me and i felt my smile was going overboard. I set my camera before so i take it quick but it was on video !? We were just in a pose for about 20seconds I panicked and told him to quickly take it ! he finally figured it out and BAM DONE! that moment just completed me<3(oh well got a video and pic with her too:))…However next was Brian still joy in my heart I asked him if he could sign in color and how he was finding Australia? (Why didn’t i even ask Jess how was Australia was?! kicking myself why didn’t i ask her==’) He loved it and he said whooa man this is old and i said yeah I’m a big fan! But something about him seemed off like he didn’t want to be there and seemed annoyed but at that moment I met Jess and it was the only thing I cared :) I came out of the tent running and jumping followed by my cousins saying you need to relax and calm down but it didn’t stop me from screaming and yelling. I also noticed Sarina in the line of ARTTM she said “come join the line you bought a M&G for them” but I remember saying its okay I met Jess and that’s all that mattered :’).
